The Canadian Prime Minister welcomed Shaikh Abdullah and discussed with him ways to enhance ties between the two friendly countries.
Shaikh Abdullah also held talks with his John Baird at the Canadian Foreign Ministry in presence of UAE Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri.
They discussed during the meeting bilateral ties and means to further them. Relations between the two countries are already witnessing huge progress with the UAE becoming one of Canada’s key trade partners.
The Canadian Foreign Minister hosted a luncheon in honour of Shaikh Abdullah, Saeed Al Mansouri and the accompanying delegation which was attended by Canadian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Morris Rosenberg, Assistant Foreign Affairs Minister for Middle East Affairs Gordon Venner, UAE Ambassador to Canada Mohammed Abdullah Mutlaq Al Ghafli, Canadian Ambassador to the UAE Ken Lewis and representatives of Canadian business sectors.
Shaikh Abdullah’s visit to Canada comes within the framework of exchange of visits by officials in the two countries.
Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri is currently heading a UAE commercial delegation on a visit to Canada which covers a number of cities there.
