Ambassador of the GCC to the EU, Amal Al-Hamad in statements to the Kuwait news agency, KUNA, Monday said the cooperation committee will examine the functioning of the 3-year joint work program approved by the EU and GGC foreign ministers council in Luxembourg in June 2010 as well as developments in the two regions.
The political dialogue will address relations between the two sides and the most important developments in the region, particularly Yemen, Syria, the peace process in the Middle East, Iraq, Iran, as well as global issues, including non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, combating terrorism and piracy.
Amal Al-Hamad noted that these meetings are held in preparation for the 22nd session of the joint EU-GCC Ministerial Council scheulded to be held in Brussels in June.
"These meetings are important in the development of relations between the GCC and the European Union and to promote dialogue between the two sides on the developments in the region," she stressed.
