Under the scheme endorsed by the cabinet, handicapped Kuwaitis will be given monthly allowances to hire drivers and helpers.

According to reports, Kuwait is home to around 35,000 disabled people in Kuwait. However, not all of them have severe disabilities.

Last week, members from several disabilities organisations in Kuwait attended a workshop led by Richard Welch, an American lecturer at Georgia State University.

The workshop focused on helping the disabilities community develop effective strategies to communicate with the broader Kuwaiti society about their important work, Kuwait Times reported.
Participants studied a step-by-step process to develop public relations campaigns for their individual organisations.

One participant commented that the workshop was invaluable as it taught her “how to be precise and targeted” with her outreach.
