In a press statement after attending a ceremony of diploma graduates at Higher Institute Security Studies of King Fahd Security College in Riyadh Tuesday, Prince Ahmed said, “The large number of thefts or other incidents is rising with the increase in population and residents.
Ten years ago, the situation was not as is it is now. Efforts are being made to cover all places with appropriate security presence.” Asked about information on the kidnapped diplomat in Yemen, Abdullah Al-Khalidi, Prince Ahmed said, “We have not received anything. God willing, he will return safely.”
As for the position of Saud Arabia on the explosion in Yemen on Monday, the deputy interior minister said, “The explosion that took place is painful, bad, un-Islamic and inhumane, and it is condemned by every human being. And whoever does this action is considered a non-Muslim.”
In reply to a question on his assessment of the security situation in Awwamiya Town, the prince said, “There is nothing new. The town is a part of this country. The matters are good and we hope for the best. There is no justification for more security efforts or to get out of the system, and security efforts there are similar to any other place.”
In response to a question on accepting graduates of Prince Mohammad Bin Naif Rehab Center in government sectors, Prince Ahmed said, “The center is established to give them a chance to integrate into the society, like other citizens, and anything issued by the center (certificates) will be acceptable.”
