“What has been raised about this topic is totally divorced from reality,” the Kuwaiti Army’s General Staff Presidency said in a release, condemning such reports as just an attempt to foment social tensions and undermine close fraternal relations between Kuwait and Jordan.
Reports on a plane-landing request dated on October 30 from the Jordanian military attach office in Kuwait, are completely ungrounded and irresponsible, it said. But, it noted that only an Afghanistan-bound plane carrying 30 troops was allowed to refuel and stay for one night in Kuwait, deeming this a routine matter for planes coming from brotherly and friendly countries.
“It turned out later that those soldiers were airlifted from Jordan to Afghanistan aboard a US Air Force plane on November 2 without having to land or stop in the State of Kuwait,” it added.
