At a press conference held in Al-Mulla’s Sharq diwaniya recently, he stressed that appeals over the decree of necessity reducing the number of votes to one is constitutional, as per Article 166 and 173, indicating it’s impossible for anybody to mislead the people on struggling with the Amir.
Constitutional expert Dr Mohammed Al-Feli noted the decision of excluding some candidates from the upcoming parliamentary election is legal and easy to enforce, but it cannot ban any person from practicing his freedom of expression, reports Al-Rai daily.
He also said the affected candidates can legally receive supporters inside their diwaniya, and the decision could also be cancelled.
In the same context, Nabil Al-Fadhel, who is barred from the list of candidacy, said the concept of "bad reputation" is new and flexible; thus, it’s impossible to identify the items or dimensions of this concept. He compared the issue to a person who has many supporters, and said he must as well have opponents at the same time, Al-Fadhel indicated.
