Mohammed, Iranian minister discuss regional security

Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Lt-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, were also present.

The meeting discussed a number of issues regarding bilateral relations, the current situation in the region and ways to safeguard stability and security in the region.

The meeting was also attended by the accompanying Iranian delegation, as well as Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group; Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimi, Minister of State; Mohammed Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Dubai Ruler’s Court; Lt-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Lt-General Saif bin Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Lt-General Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence; Mohammad Reza Fayyad, Iranian Ambassador to the UAE; and a number of UAE officials.

Earlier, Shaikh Saif held a meeting with Mohammad Najjar.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of a dinner banquet hosted by Shaikh Saif at Downtown Hotel in Dubai, the UAE minister stressed the importance of mutual cooperation on issues of police and security that serve the tasks of police work in both ministries.
