The Ministry of Interior in a statement said that security forces found a stolen car in Aali area in the morning, which had been rigged to cause an explosion with a gas cylinder.
At 2.55am on Monday, a police patrol in the area saw two masked men trying to set a car on fire.
They fled the scene on seeing the police and a large gas cylinder was found inside the car.
Investigation showed that it was a stolen vehicle, and efforts would continue to bring the suspects to justice on charges of arson attempt, the statement said.
Commenting on the incident and other violent actions, Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa told heads of parliamentary blocs during a meeting on Monday of the need not to misuse freedom to undermine social peace.
