The court was presided by Chief Justice Adel Al-Kanderi and had accepted the case formally, but not substantively.
Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad filed the case against the minister after the latter relieved him of his duties as deputy chief of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports Affairs in implementation of a law regulating work of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee and sports clubs and unions.
The law states that it is prohibited for anyone to hold both board membership in a sports body and a post at the authority simultaneously.
Several laws were issued last April to regulate sports action and activities in the State of Kuwait with the aim of boosting sports performance in general.
