Moussa said in a statement to reporters that before the Arab summit to be held in Doha later in the month, great efforts would be exerted to create the atmosphere for Arab reconciliation, pointing to the efforts exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz during the Arab economic summit that was held in Kuwait last January.

Asked about news reports of an Arab mini-summit betwenn Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria and Qatar in Riyadh to discuss ways of bridging the Arab splits and work to end the Arab-Arab differences Moussa said, "We are waiting for such a summit in one way or another to include a number of Arab states contacted by the Saudi Kingdom to give effect to the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and I was informed all of these communications." On the Palestinian dialogue, which starts Tuesday, Moussa said the League supports it as it is the only way to protect the supreme interests of the Palestinians, indicating that the Palestinian-Palestinian differences have affected and weakened the Palestinian position.
