The Bahraini minister was speaking to reporters prior to his departure with Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah to Seoul, South Korea, to participate in the 6th Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum.

"Everyone is working to protect the region from evil and dangers," he said.
He added that Bahrain encouraged US-Iranian dialogue and supported it in the interest of regional stability.

Asked to comment on recent violence in Lebanon, Sheikh Khalid said his country supported all measures taken by the Lebanese government and its exercise of full sovereignty over its territories.

As for the participation of the Bahraini and Kuwaiti delegations in the Asian forum, he said it was "important" as a basis for greater Asian cooperation in the future.
Such important topics as combating poverty, environmental issues, and energy cooperation will be discussed in the forum, he said, adding that this would open horizons for greater political consensus between Asian countries.

The 6th Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum will kick off in Seoul tomorrow. Both the Kuwaiti and Bahraini delegations will then continue their tour to Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, and finally in Bahrain where the Higher Kuwaiti-Bahraini Committee is to convene.
