Information Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Culture and National Heritage Sector Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa said the museum which comprises two main buildings, an exhibit hall and another for archaeologists, meets the conditions required by the Unesco to include the site in the world heritage list.

She said the second hall would provide suitable conditions for archeologists to carry out excavation activities near archaeological sites.

The museum was designed by architect Klaus Wohlert, an international expert in designing museums. Each piece on display will be presented in a spectacular manner to enable visitors to learn about its background details.

The assistant undersecretary said that the cost of the museum reached BD3 million, out of which BD700,000 were allocated for exhibitions.
