The deputy said they might have been prevented from entering Kuwait on advice from the Bahrain government.
He said they were not the only ones who had been denied entry. Fadhel Al Ridhwa was prevented from entering Kuwait on May 25, 1996 and Ali Ahmed was denied entry on February 4 1999, he said.
However, the head of public relations and media at the Ministry of Interior refuted Hamza’s allegations.
Describing them as ‘blackmail’, the official said in a statement, “No Bahraini can be refused to enter Kuwait unless there is a legal restriction on that person,” he said.
According to GCC regulations all nationals can enter and leave the member nations at will and without visa.
