Receiving citizens, ministers, businessman, mediapersons and intellectuals, the Premier said all Bahrainis shared the responsibility of protecting their national success achieved by the royal reforms which widened the scope of freedoms, promoted democracy and reinforced parliamentary life.
Parliament, which is the fruit of the reforms project, has always supported government programmes that benefited people, he said.
Shaikh Khalifa hailed citizens’ sense of responsibility and patriotism and said their loyalty stood the test of time and remained unshakable in the face of adversities. Bahrainis are one people and patriotism, he said, calling on them to ward off any attempts to undermine the Kingdom’s security and stability.
Everyone should rest assured that Bahrain is safe as long as its people are united and focused on national interests, he said.
A conscious and responsible citizen is the strongest power to protect Bahrain’s achievements and deter any malicious attempt against the Kingdom and its people, Shaikh Khalifa said, pointing out government’ efforts to ensure decent, secure and stable life for citizens. The government is always keen to follow up on housing, health, educational and services projects, he said, underlining the citizens’ role as the catalyst for success.
