Decision seen on constitutional dissolution of Kuwait Parliament

The electorate has been calling for fresh elections to produce a more purposeful Parliament that will serve the public far from personal interests. They have also been agitating for a Cabinet full of technocrats with utmost readiness to cooperate with the legislature for the good of the country.

The leadership has been steadfastly following up the legislative-executive political tension that has taken toll on the national economy and impeded the growth of foreign investment, so the best way to satisfy the citizens is for the incumbent Parliament to give way to a more robust one. It is now time to quickly constitute a vibrant Cabinet that can successfully steer the ship of the nation until the election of new lawmakers.

HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah recently headed a meeting of the top royal family members including HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of National Guard Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah and Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, among others.

They deliberated on the latest political situation concerning the proposed grilling of the prime minister. Despite a request for the unconstitutional dissolution of the National Assembly by some participants, the Amir and senior family members insisted on the constitutional and democratic alternative that they believe in and runs in their veins.
