The GCC Secretariat said in a statement rebels in Darfur killed 12 African Union peacekeepers in an attempt to disrupt current peace efforts in the region.
The GCC statement stressed importance on continuing with peace efforts through dialogue and to reach a settlement to fully end the Darfur conflict.
