In a joint press conference held with Yemen’s Foreign Minister Abu Bakir Al-Qarbi, Al-Attiyah said that he and Al-Qarbi had discussed issues pertinent to the GCC and Yemen, chiefly development projects and latest developments of the consultative Summit.

In addition, Al-Attiyah said that Yemeni labor should have priority of job opportunities in GCC countries. Yemen is a member of the Executive Office of the Council of Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs, he pointed out.

Furthermore, Al-Attiyah reaffirmed that the current situation of Yemen has nothing to do with agreements regarding development projects.

On his part, Al-Qarbi thanked GCC leaders for their concern and support to Yemen in all fields, noting that President Ali Abdullah Saleh was looking into demands by some people with legitimate claims.
Minister Al-Qarbi added that extremist groups that disturbed stability of the country would be prosecuted according to constitution and law.
