In statement to the Bahraini newspaper /al-Watan/, H.E. Al-Attiyah said that one of the functions of the GGC Central Bank will be to prepare the arrangements for launching the Gulf currency. H.E. the GCC Secretary General underlined that the GCC single currency will be launched on time and denied that the 2010 deadline will be extended. H.E. Al-Attiyah said that Governors of the GCC Central Banks will hold their ordinary meeting in Muscat next week, noting that it will not be an extraordinary meeting.
