Gulf media challenges extremism, delinquency: Sheikh Faisal

Sheikh Faisal asserted the importance of GCC joint action in the field of media to conquer the current challenges.

 

He praised as "positive" the role of the corporation in enriching the Arab and Gulf media production, research and analysis.

 

Over three decades the corporation offered large numbers of creative programs and serials that will remain engraved in memories of a whole generation, he pointed out.

 

The agenda of the general assembly meeting includes revision of Chief Executive officer (CEO) of the corporation on programs carried out so far.

 

Among the outstanding programs produced by the corporation are; "Mosques of History," "Speeches of Leaders," "Gulf Lyrics Operetta," "Civilization Makers, " "Messages of Love," "Gulf – Civilization and Construction," "Under the Umbrella of Islam," "Wind Carpet," "Gulf Tales," "Eco Flash," and "Gulf’s Who Is Who." Sheikh Faisal thanked former CEO of the corporation Kuwaiti media man Hashem Al-Shakhs for his efforts to press ahead with the role of the corporation, and wished all success for the new chief executive Abdul-Mohsen Al-Banai.

 

The two day session of the general assembly gathers undersecretaries of the information ministry of the GCC member states, board members of the corporation, representatives of the GCC General Secretariat and Director General of the GCC Radio and TV Union.
