The meeting was chaired by Planning Council Secretary-General Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor Al Thani. Those attending included Dr Sheikh Abdullah bin Saoud Al Thani from the Qatar Foundation, Brigadier-General Saad bin Jassim Al Kholaifi and General Mubarak Dawi of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Hind Jolo from Qatar University, Dr Nawal Al Sheikh from the Supreme Council for Education, Mohammed Al Ahbabi from the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdulaziz Al Kaabi from the Ministry of Education and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al Thani from Qatar Petroleum.
Also present was Dr Hassan Al Mohannadi, the General Project Coordinator of the Strategy and coordinators and chairpersons of each project Steering Committee.
Sheikh Hamad said: "H H Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned is very pleased that this Strategy aims not only to have a positive effect on sustainable development but also to positively impact youth behaviour."
Dr Hassan discussed the engagement process being undertaken to continue to inform and involve stakeholders as the Strategy and NAP progresses.
The 10 initial projects will aim to achieve four key objectives: enhance what is known about Qatar’s labour market, its trends and issues, developing the skills and responsiveness of Qataris so they can be a part of the workforce, coordinate the development and implementation of more effective labour market policies across all sectors and upgrade the productivity of the public service workforce, the release said.
