Speaking to reporters following the inauguration of the first Gulf development forum, Al-Maatouq said that the ministry of Awqaf has a department that is fully administered by a woman which is the family development department.
He said that all elements leading to the success of conferences have been met in this forum, a matter proving that the woman can not only succeed but be distinguished as well.
The minister expressed hope the conference would produce recommendations that would put an end to the issue of family division, expressing hope for more conferences that call for family cohesiveness.
He asserted the importance of integration of roles and exchange of ideas and expertise ahead of reaching joint objectives domestically and externally.
On his part, ministry’s Undersecretary and head of the organizing committee Dr Adel Al-Falah said in his speech that the ministry of Awqaf has been assigned to be responsible for religious affairs, saying that good planning was the best means for success and prosperity.
He added that ministry has drawn its five-year plan through a comprehensive strategy that directs the religious approach in Kuwait.
