"Iran’s stability contributes to Kuwait’s stability," he told KUNA.

He said, however, that his country was keen on preserving the dignity of its employees and shared with Iran the respect for diplomats.

The MP was alluding to an attack on a Kuwaiti diplomat in Tehran a few weeks ago.
"We would like for there to be mutual respect, and for containment of this incident and preventing its reoccurrence in the future," he said.

Al-Tabtabaei commended steps taken by the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry following the attack, saying that they were "consistent with the size of the incident." Kuwait is still waiting for results of the Iranian investigation of this issue, he concluded.

Al-Tabtabaei is in Tehran to participate in the Asian Parliament Assembly (APA) meetings which kicked off here yesterday, and is accompanied by MP Abdullah Akkash
