In a statement published Thursday in Al-Dustoor Jordanian newspaper, President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Chairman of Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah said late Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah had emphasized that the last country to normalize relations with Israeli will be Kuwait.

Sheikh Ahmad said His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ordered a donation of USD 500 million, during the Arab Economic Summit that was held in Kuwait last January, for the reconstruction of Gaza Strip.
His Highness also donated USD 34 million during the summit for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) to support its programs in Palestine, he added, and both gestures indicate resolute resolve to support the Palestinians.

On his recent visit to Palestine, Al-Sabah expressed his joy to be among the first Kuwaiti officials to visit the country in a long time and stressed that his country supported the Palestinian-Palestinian dialogue.
Meanwhile, he praised the Kuwaiti-Jordanian relations, described them as strong, and said the two countries had the same views on issues that concerned the Arab and Islamic nations.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II was keen on boosting Arab joint action in all fields, he said.
Sheikh Ahmad had decorated King Abdullah with the OCA medal in appreciation of his role in supporting sports.
