Kuwaiti legislative and executive bodies seek transparency, reform

He made the remarks to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), hailing the general congenial atmosphere for meeting governmental and parliamentary aspirations.
Asked about his evaluation of government accomplishments in the previous stage, the minister said it was not so easy for him to judge the performance of the incumbent government which has been in office for just a short period of time.

But, he said "the general situation reflects an atmosphere of understanding and confluence." "Everyone is impressed at present by the enthusiasm of both authorities about the fulfillment of their responsibilities," he added.

He stressed the need to create a practical atmosphere for translating the "wishes of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and wishes of the Kuwaiti people into action." He added that the governmental program of action to be sent to the National Assembly (parliament) would "unequivocally express governmental aspirations."

 

He considered that the government and parliament were seeking to achieve transparency and constructive reform and cooperation. A recent meeting by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah with several members of parliament showed his policy of understanding and confluence aiming to bring closer views of both legislative and executive authorities, the minister concluded.
