Kuwaiti new Ambassador to Austria hails bilateral relations

The Ambassador made his remarks upon arriving here to assume the new post of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Austria and permanent representative in the Vienna-based international organizations.
Al-Sallal is succeeding Ambassador Abdul-Aziz Al-Jassem.

 


The Ambassador also paid tribute in a brief statement to KUNA on the role played by Austria as a bridge between the countries of Western and Eastern Europe and its role within the United Nations, in addition to its role in the UN peacekeeping force around the globe, including the Middle East.

 


The new Ambassador also noted on Kuwait’s appreciation and admiration for Austria’s wise foreign policy which is based on neutrality, stressing importance on boosting bilateral relations and cooperation on all levels between the two countries.

 


Al-Sallal also stressed importance on the recent visit made by Austrian President Heinz Fischer to Kuwait last February which was triumphed with positive results on various political, social, and economic arenas.

 


Kuwait was among the first countries in the Arabian Gulf to establish political, economic, and trade ties with Austria, which date back to the opening of embassies between the two countries in 1978.
