Following the meeting, Al-Sabah declined to respond to press questions concerning the meeting, telling reporters to ask the committee head instead.

But, he said national security was based on a couple of core aspects: constitution and national unity. "Once such concepts become deep-rooted in society, we will then have created a sincere line that could help in the resolution of other difficulties," he said.

In this context, he pointed to Kuwaiti precautions in anticipation of a looming regional war, which the National Security Apparatus decided to adopt following a recent meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs.

"But, such precautionary measures are not targeted against any party," he affirmed.
However, Kuwait is keen on promoting its friendly relations with neighboring countries for the sake of mutual interests, he concluded.
