Kuwait’s Parliament Member calls for border elimination of GCC countries

Al-Saqer told KUNA after his meeting with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir Al-Thani that topics such as the unified strategy and GCC’s excluding borders were discussed during the meeting.

Al-Saqer added such topics are critical in developing the overall progress and system of the GCC countries.

Al-Saqer explained that since its establishment the GCC did not achieve ambitions of the GCC citizen, adding that the citizen’s ambitions were far greater from current GCC achievements.

The Kuwaiti Member of Parliament also said the meeting covered issues regarding obstacles facing a unified GCC agenda, noting that eliminating such obstacles will benefit cooperation among GCC countries.

The meeting also shed light on the Kuwaiti-Qatari relations, Qatari-Saudi relations, and all of GCC countries relations and ways of enhancing them, Al-Saqer added.

The President of the Arab Interim Parliament said Qatar has shown a great deal of support to the recent proposal by Kuwait and Egypt regarding holding an economic summit which was adopted by the last Arab Summit in Riyadh.

The meeting was attended by members of the Kuwaiti Parliament Ali Al-Deqbasi, Mubarak Al-Khrainej, Musallam Al-Barrak, and Qatari Shura Council Speaker Mohammad Al-Khulaifi along with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Qatar Dhari Al-Ajran.
