Speaking at the two-day Global Water Management Congress, which started at the Dubai Hayat Regency yesterday, Al Kindi highlighted the problem of water scarcity in many countries of the world especially in the Gulf region.

He stressed that the government had given top priority to the water issue. “It has made a lot of efforts for conserving water and exploring new resources. These measures included building of dams to recharge aquifers, cloud seeding, use of modern irrigation systems, new laws and regulations and awareness campaigns to stress importance of saving water,” he added.
